Gengahr – “Bathed In Light”

Because we saw them play at La Plage du Glaz’art this summer (and because we’re nice) we have a really cool song for you from Gengahr.

Remember Gengahr? We talked about them here months ago and even invited them to our Blogo soiree at La Plage du Galz’art.

Well the little Englishmen will be back next week, October 27 to be exact, with their first single, “Powder” – and today we’re kindly offering up its B-side for you all, “Bathed in Light.”

The track is in the same vein as “Powder,” but a little more disturbing and mind-blowing, a little less Guitar Hero, still with this pinched voice that reminds me of Andrew VanWyngarden of MGMT (without MDMA) and a strange naïveté pop à la Ariel Pink (sans MDMA).

Gengahr don’t know when they’ll be back in France, but they’ll be at Iceland Airwaves in November, and so will we. The other dates (English and Dutch) are all here.

So if you want the single, you can throw a couple pennies Transgressive Records’ way, who’ve released it here.
