The department of Sarthe is the Martels’ domain.
In the Sarthe are their two grandmothers, their aunts and their friends…Seb regularly organises concerts in event halls, or in the Pressoir, a small venue in a room of his grandmother’s house. Music, Saumur wine and good food.
This time it was the commune of St Macaire des Bois that was bustling, welcoming both Camille, who was polishing a project, and Las Ondas Marteles with their new album ‘On the Rocks’, which swaps the boleros of their first album for rockabilly.
For these films they brought us into caves, a bar, and near to a quarry where Seb and Nico hung around as kids. For our final location, we crossed the road to get to the church where the grandmothers congregate on Sundays.
